Abstract

The present invention provides a light source for use in a fixed warning or indicating annunciator, such as a track annunciator. The light source has: a lighting device for emitting light to be output by the light source; circuitry associated with the lighting device; and communication circuitry for communicating information from the light source to an external monitoring system. The communication circuitry is configured to electrically isolate the lighting device and circuitry associated with the lighting device from an external monitoring system when the light source is in use. The external monitoring system can be a condition monitoring system.
