Problems solved by technology

That is, although the UE expects to send the second RLC SDU after discarding the first RLC SDU, the second RLC SDU may have an additional time delay due to the transmission of the MAC PDU segment to be transmitted in the MAC layer
[0020] As mentioned above, conventional MAC PDU transmission methods may waste radio resources and generate time delays during transmission because UE sends unnecessary MAC PDU segments

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for processing MAC protocol data unit in a wireless communication system. A method and apparatus for processing a MAC PDU in a wireless communication system are disclosed. The method includes segmenting a MAC PDU into a first MAC PDU segment and a second MAC PDU segment, transmitting the first MAC PDU segment to a receiver, and discarding the second MAC PDU segment not to be transmitted to the receiver, if the transmission of the first MAC PDU segment is failed.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a wireless communication system, and more particularly to a method and an apparatus for processing a Medium Access Control (MAC) Protocol Data Unit (PDU) in a wireless communication system. Background technique [0002] refer to figure 1 , the following describes the Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) network structure. [0003] figure 1 The UMTS network structure is shown. The UMTS system includes User Equipment (UE), UMTS Terrestrial Radio Access Network (UTRAN) and Core Network (CN). The UTRAN includes one or more Radio Network Subsystems (RNS), and each RNS includes a Radio Network Controller (RNC) and one or more Node Bs managed by the RNC. One Node B manages one or more cells. [0004] refer to figure 2 , describing the radio protocol architecture of UMTS. figure 2 The architecture of the radio protocol for UMTS is shown. These radio protocol layers are defined in pairs between UE and UTRA...
