Abstract

The invention discloses a system and a method for sharing the same BIOS (Basic Input Output System) for different mainboards. Each mainboard is respectively provided with a NVRAM (Non Volatile Random Access Memory) and BIOS, wherein the NVRAM internally stores the mainboard mark of the mainboard, and various types of system configuration data is arranged in the BIOS. Each type of system configuration data corresponds to one mainboard and needs one configuration mark to be built; the configuration mark of each type of system configuration data is matched with the mainboard mark of the corresponding mainboard. When the BIOS operates, the mainboard mark is read from the NVRAM, and the read mainboard mark is compared with the configuration mark of each type of system configuration data to obtain the system configuration data corresponding to the mainboard so as to perform the obtained system configuration data.
