The two-dimensional comb filter in the embodiment of the invention comprises a direction relevance detection unit, vertical and horizontal comb filters, an arbitrament unit, a selector and a computing unit, wherein the direction relevance detection unit is used for detecting the similarity of the luminance and chrominance of pixel points in vertical and horizontal directions of the input composite video signal and outputting the detection result to the arbitrament unit; the vertical and horizontal comb filters are used for performing comb filtration on the input composite video signal in the vertical and horizontal directions and outputting the processing result to the selector; the arbitrament unit is used for judging the processing result of the vertical comb filter or the horizontal comb filter according to the detection result of the direction relevance detection unit and outputting the judgment result to the selector; and the selector and the computing unit are used for performing luminance and chrominance separation.
