Problems solved by technology

However, using empirical formulas may not be able to respond to changes in physical parameters around the occupant inside the confined space and may not be able to obtain the actual t of the occupant's body eq
Moreover, to calculate t experimentally eq thermal mannequins (such as mannequin dolls to reproduce the thermal characteristics of occupants) are sometimes required, and this approach may often be limited by cost, time, and an accurate representation of actual conditions in the enclosed space

Abstract

A system and method for assessing thermal comfort in an enclosure is disclosed. In one embodiment, a method includes performing a numerical analysis on a calibration enclosure including a thermal manikin in a uniform thermal environment to obtain a surface heat transfer coefficient (heal) for each body part of the thermal manikin. The method also includes performing a numerical analysis on an enclosure including one or more thermal manikins in a non-uniform thermal environment to obtain a total heat flux (q" T ) for each body part of the one or more thermal manikins. The method further includes computing an equivalent temperature (t eq ) of each body part of the one or more thermal manikins using the obtained associated h cal , the obtained associated q" T , and an associated surface temperature of the body part. Furthermore, the method includes evaluating thermal comfort in the enclosure based on each computed t eq .

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a numerical simulation system and method, in particular to a numerical simulation system and method for evaluating thermal comfort in a sealed space. Background technique [0002] Typically, the thermal environment within an enclosed space, such as a building, vehicle or aircraft cockpit, is highly dependent on parameters such as velocity, temperature within the enclosed space, solar radiation incidence through glazing, etc. . To assess thermal comfort in an enclosed space, it is necessary to evaluate the effect of the above parameters on the thermal sensation actually felt by the occupants in the enclosed space. Traditionally, the assessment of thermal comfort is carried out by the method of a thermal comfort index (predicted mean vote PMV) outlined in the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 7730 standard. [0003] However, the disadvantage of the PMV method is that it is generally applicable under uniform a...
