Embodiment Construction

[0020] Described in detail in the first part of the description is the work of the anti-theft device. On the contrary, described in the second part of the description is the operation of the monitoring system using the aforementioned anti-theft device for the purpose of diagnosis of the individual panels making up the photovoltaic power plant.

[0021] refer to figure 1 , the anti-theft device connected to the photovoltaic panel 1 of the substation 5 through the connection line L comprises a first unit 11 associated with the substation 5 and a plurality of second units 10 associated with the panel 1 . The first unit 11 is designed to generate an activation code 4 and each of the second units 10 is designed to disable the operation of the corresponding panel 1 in the absence of the activation code 4 .

[0022] refer again figure 1 , a plurality of photovoltaic panels 1 are connected in parallel to the two wires of the connection line generally indicated by L to form a photovo...

Abstract

An antitheft and monitoring system (10, 11) for a plurality of photovoltaic panels (1), wherein the panels (1) are connected by means of a connection line (L) to a distribution substation (5). The monitoring system (10, 11) comprises a first unit (11) associated to the distribution substation (5), wherein the first unit (11) is designed to generate activation codes (4), and a plurality of second units (10) associated to the panels (1), wherein each of the second units (10) is designed to inhibit operation of the respective panel (1) in the absence of the activation code (4) for a pre-set period. Furthermore, each second unit (10) is selectively activatable via a unique activation code(4) generated by the first unit (11). The antitheft and monitoring system is moreover configured to activate an individual panel (1) selectively by sending onto the connection line (L) the corresponding unique activation code (4) and detecting, via a measuring device (22), the characteristics of voltage and current of the individual active panel (1).

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to an anti-theft and surveillance system for photovoltaic panels. Background technique [0002] The past few years have witnessed a considerable expansion of photovoltaic technology; in particular, it is very advantageous in remote areas where the technology has been occupying a strategic role for the distributed generation of electrical energy. However, since they are in most cases unsupervised locations, they face a high risk of photovoltaic panel theft. [0003] The idea of providing an anti-theft system that will prevent photovoltaic panels from operating when they are disconnected from the supply line is known for example from International Patent Application No. WO97 / 42664. [0004] This document describes an anti-theft device for photovoltaic panels connected to distribution lines by connection lines. In particular, the anti-theft device comprises a first unit associated with the distribution line and a second u...
