Abstract

The invention discloses a method for resetting a tool of an aluminium electrolysis multifunctional overhead traveling crane and a device thereof. The method comprises the following steps of: detecting the practical position of an inductor which moves up and down along with a tool through a fixed upper induction signal switch; and when the practical decline amount delta ss of the inductor is larger than a preset allowed decline amount delta sy, transmitting single alarm by the upper induction signal switch to drive the tool to be automatically reset at an initial height. The device comprises the inductor (2), the upper induction signal switch (4), a lower induction signal switch (5) and an allowed decline position induction switch (8), wherein the inductor (2) is fixed on a tool moving part (1), the upper induction signal switch (4) and the lower induction signal switch (5) are fixed on a tool-fixing guide part (3), and the upper induction signal switch, the lower induction signal switch and the allowed decline position-inducting switch are connected with a work switch (6) and a tool operating rod (7). The invention can automatically reset the tool when the tool of the overhead traveling crane is declined to a dangerous height, and thereby preventing the lower of the tool and the upper mechanism of an electrolytic bath from having the mechanical collision accident.
