The syrup-combined type sand is prepared from the following components in part by weight: 100 parts of naturally-winnowed silica sand, 3 to 15 parts of syrup bonding agent, 0 to 3 parts of boric acid serving as a reinforcing agent and small amount of alcohol serving as an auxiliary material; the process comprises the following follows: according to the material components and weight ratio, adding the syrup and the boric acid in the naturally-winnowed silica sand, mixing and stirring the mixture, shaping the mixture, spraying and brushing the alcohol, firing and roasting, and molding. The syrup-combined type sand has the advantages that: the cost is greatly reduced; as the syrup belongs to hydrocarbon, no impurity remains after being burned so as not to influence the regeneration and utilization of the used casting sand; and the syrup-combined type sand is environment-friendly and does not harm the health of workers.
