Abstract

The invention relates to a backlight module which comprises a plurality of light sources, a frame accommodating the light sources and an optical plate. The optical plate is made of a transparent body which comprises a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface, wherein the first surface of the transparent body is provided with a plurality of mutually paralleled strip arc-shaped grooves and a pitch between adjacent arc-shaped grooves is about 0.025 millimeters to about 1.5 millimeters. The second surface is provided with a plurality of mutually paralleled strip V-shaped bulges and the extension directions of the strip V-shaped bulges on the second surface of the optical plate are crossed with that of the strip arc-shaped bulges on the first surface. A pitch between strip V-shaped bulges is about 0.025 millimeters to about 1 millimeter. The thickness optical plate is 0.5 millimeters to about 3 millimeters. The invention also provides the optical plate adopted by the backlight module. The backlight module has the advantages of improving effective utilization rate of lights and well-distributing the lights.
