Embodiment Construction

[0023] figure 1 The schematic structure of the device for optical detection of foreign fibers in longitudinally moving fiber bundles is represented in a very simple manner. Fiber bundle 1 moves in the direction of arrow 7 . A light source 2 emits light in the direction of the fiber bundle 1 . This light is reflected by the fiber bundle 1 and detected by the sensor 3 . The light source 2 is connected by means of a control line 6 , the sensor 3 by means of a control line 5 to a digital control unit 4 . The control unit 4 continuously determines the brightness value of the fiber bundle using a known method. Other light sources or sensors may also be required, depending on the method used to determine brightness.

[0024] At each scanning step k, the control unit 4 determines the brightness deviation ΔH(k) according to the method of the invention. figure 2 The figure shows this calculation. The successively determined average brightness value H is subtracted from the bright...

Abstract

The method involves emitting light in direction of a fiber stand (1), and determining brightness value of thread from the light reflected in the thread. The brightness value is continuously checked to deviation from luminance average value. Ratio is formed from absolute deviation and predetermined fixed value that is specified for the fiber stand, and is utilized for evaluation of the deviation. The fixed value is changed when changing the thread color, where the fixed value and predetermined value does not go below the specified value. An independent claim is also included for a device for optically detecting foreign fiber i.e. thread, in a longitudinal moving fiber stand, comprising a light source.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a method for the optical detection of foreign fibers in a longitudinally moving fiber bundle, in particular a yarn, comprising: sending light in the direction of the fiber bundle, determining the yarn by means of the light reflected by the yarn luminance value, which is continuously checked for deviations from the mean luminance value. The invention also relates to a device for carrying out the method. Background technique [0002] In the manufacture or processing of fibers or yarns, impurities such as foreign fibers are detrimental to the subsequent processing and the quality of the final product. Therefore, it is crucial to detect foreign fibers in order to obtain quality information about fiber bundles, or to be able to take steps to remove foreign fibers immediately after detection. [0003] For the detection of foreign fibers, optical methods are mainly used in practice, which are based on the different reflective proper...
