Problems solved by technology

[0006] (1) The method based on RSS can provide large coverage, but the positioning accuracy is low;
[0007] (2) TOA-based methods can provide high-accuracy solutions, but the coverage is small
On the other hand, conventional localization algorithms such as triangulation require at least three simultaneously measured TOA results to determine a position
This condition is sometimes difficult to meet due to dynamic environment changes, unreliable links, and target movement, resulting in a high rate of positioning failures

Embodiment Construction

[0044] FIG. 1 is a block diagram showing the overall configuration of an adaptive positioning system 100 according to the present invention. As shown in the figure, as an example, the system 100 is composed of a target device 102 carried by a moving target 110, a detection device 120 as an observer, and a central information server 111, where the central information server 111 includes an adaptive positioning device 101. As an example, the detection device 120 in FIG. 1 has a positioner independent (POD) structure, that is, includes a head device 103 and a leaf device 104. Regarding the detailed description of POD, another application entitled "Independent locator and autonomous ultrasonic positioning system and method" submitted by the applicant of this application (application date: January 29, 2008, application number No. 200810006317.0) As described in, this application is incorporated by reference in its entirety for all purposes. Of course, the detection device 120 is no...

Abstract

The invention provides a self-adaptive localization method, equipment and system which adopt a TOA and RSS fusion mode. The self-adaptive equipment comprises an observation result collector for collecting results of the TOA and the RSS of signals sent by an object, a TOA result counter for determining the number of the TOA results, and a position counter for selectively calculating the strategy of the position of the object and calculating the position of the object according to the selected strategy. The equipment can select the position strategy in a self-adaptive mode according to the number of the TOA results. Compared with the prior art, the self-adaptive method, equipment and system have the characteristics of self-adaptivity, reliability, accuracy, expandability, low cost, and the like.

Description

Technical field [0001] The present invention generally relates to target positioning strategies. More specifically, the present invention provides robust and accurate adaptive positioning methods, devices and systems for integrating RSS (received signal strength)-based positioning strategies and TOA ( Arrival time) positioning strategy advantage. Background technique [0002] The continuous enhancement of digitization promotes the development of computer networks in the direction of a "universal information society". Various services that respond to the physical location can be provided through mobile devices, miniature wireless identification tags (tags), sensor networks, etc. Location information is very important in people's daily life. NTTSoCoMo's survey shows that 85% of the world's information is related to location, and 5% of data services on mobile systems are related to location. Location-based service (LBS) is dedicated to accurately identifying the location of indiv...
