Air 5 and fuel 6 form a gas mixture which is fed to compression device 2 via line 14 . The compression device 2 is connected via a shaft 4 to an exhaust gas turbine 3 which is arranged in an exhaust gas duct 11 of the internal combustion engine 1 . The exhaust gas turbine 3 is driven by the exhaust gas of the internal combustion engine 1 . The compression device 2 has variable compressor geometries according to the known state of the art.
