Problems solved by technology

[0004] At present, the modification of attapulgite clay mainly includes acid treatment, alkali treatment, and organic ammonium salt treatment. It has been reported in the literature that polyacrylamide is grafted by atom transfer radical surface-initiated polymerization. Ions form covalent bonds to achieve the purpose of removing mercury ions, but the preparation steps are cumbersome and the cycle is long, which sets certain obstacles for its application

Abstract

The invention discloses a method to prepare an attapulgite clay / polyacrylamide compound adsorbent. Coupling agent is adopted to react with the attapulgite clay to achieve surface functionalization, and thereby, modified attapulgite clay with a hydrophobic vinyl functional group surface is prepared; under the protection of inert gas, graft copolymerization of the modified attapulgite clay and acrylamide is conducted by solution polymerization to achieve compound adsorbent with amido functional group. The preparation method is simple and easy to operate, and has a wide prospect of application; the compound adsorbent has excellent adsorbing performance to mercury and other heavy-metal ions which can have chelate reaction with amido. When pH is 4.4, the adsorptive capacity to mercury ion is 10-15 times higher than the former attapulgite clay; when pH is 2.0, during the adsorption in the mixed-ion solution of mercury and chromium, the adsorbent has sound selective adsorption capacity to Hg<2+>.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a preparation method of an attapulgite clay adsorbent, in particular to a preparation method of an attapulgite clay / polyacrylamide composite adsorbent. Background technique [0002] With the rapid development of my country's economy and the urgent need to build an ecological society, the problem of heavy metal pollution in water bodies has attracted increasing attention. At present, the methods to deal with heavy metal pollution mainly include precipitation method, ion exchange method, extraction method, membrane separation method and adsorption method. Adsorption, as an important chemical and physical method, is widely used in the water treatment process, and the selection and development of adsorption materials is one of the key factors in the development of adsorption water treatment technology. [0003] Attapulgite clay [Si 8 Mg 5 o 20 (OH) 2 (OH 2 ) 4 4H 2 O] is a hydrous-rich magnesium-aluminosilicate mineral, and...
