Embodiment Construction

[0063] FIG. 1 shows a high-frequency application device 1 for thermal hardening of body tissue, which has at least two electrodes 12 which are in contact with the body tissue. The high-frequency application device 1 is preferably incorporated into an instrument. The high-frequency applying device 1 is composed of a high-frequency generator 2 for generating a high-frequency voltage and a measuring device 7 for determining impedance or ohmic resistance between electrodes 12 .

[0064] In a preferred embodiment, in the measuring device 7, certain parameters such as current intensity, voltage, operating efficiency and phase characteristics of the therapeutic high-frequency current are obtained in a well-known manner through the high-frequency transformers 3 and 4 for voltage and current. combination to determine the impedance or ohmic resistance of the measuring device.

[0065] The important feature of this device is that in order to detect tissue dryness, it is not to measure t...

Abstract

The invention relates to a high-frequency current application device (1), for the thermal sclerosing of body tissue, comprising a high frequency generator (2), to which at least two electrodes (12) are connected, of which at least one electrode is for introduction into body tissue, a measuring and calculation device (7, 9), embodied for the determination of the impedance or the ohmic resistance between the two electrodes between which a therapeutic high frequency current flows and a control device (6), connected to the measuring and calculation device, for changing the output power. The measuring and calculation device forms the first derivative of the time curve for the impedance or ohmic resistance during a high frequency current application. The control device reduces the output power significantly when said time curve derivative exceeds a positive threshold (L1), which is characteristic of an impending tissue desiccation and returns the output power back to the original power when the first derivative exceeds a negative threshold (L2), in the positive direction, which is characteristic for an adequate rehydration of the body tissue.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a device for thermohardening body tissue by applying high-frequency current. The application device comprises at least two electrodes which are in contact with body tissue during application and wherein at least one electrode is inserted into the body tissue. In addition, the application device also includes: a high-frequency generator for generating a high-frequency voltage and connected to at least two electrodes; a measuring device for measuring impedance or ohmic resistance between selected electrodes; and a control device for The electrical output of the radio-frequency generator can be varied as required, and in a preferred variant an external pump can additionally be controlled. Background technique [0002] When the high-frequency voltage at the output of the high-frequency generator is output to the electrode in contact with the body tissue when the high-frequency current is applied, and generates a high-frequ...
