Embodiment 1

[0052] Embodiment 1: RRA reports idle resources of BS to RRC

[0053] As shown in Figure 3, it includes the following steps:

[0054] S101. The RRC sends the RRM-Spare-capacity-request primitive to the RRA, requesting to report the idle wireless resources of the BS, including the information specifying the idle resources to be reported and the reporting conditions or reporting period. The idle resource information includes one of the following or random combination:

[0055] 1. The average value, maximum value and minimum value of the number of uplink idle OFDM symbols and the number of sub-channels within a statistical period T;

[0056] 2. The average value, maximum value and minimum value of the number of downlink idle OFDM symbols and the number of sub-channels within a statistical period T;

[0057] 3. The average value, maximum value and minimum value of the number of idle OFDM symbols and the number of subchannels of each service currently provided;

[0058] Generall...

Embodiment 2

[0065] Embodiment 2: Exchange BS idle resource information between RRCs

[0066] As shown in Figure 5, RRC1 requests RRC2 to report the idle resource information of one or some BSs specified in its category. This situation is mainly used when the terminal needs to know the idle resources of these BSs when switching between BSs under different RRCs. Whether the information is running or not is switched, and the specific process includes the following steps:

[0067] S201. RRC1 sends an RRM-Spare-capacity-request primitive to RRC2, requesting to report idle wireless resources of a designated BS, including resource information designated to be reported and identification information of the BS;

[0068] Still taking the OFDMA system as an example, the BS idle resource information that needs to be reported also includes one or any combination of the following:

[0069] 1. The average value, maximum value and minimum value of the number of uplink idle OFDM symbols and the number of...

Abstract

The method is in use for solving issue that current technique is unable to obtain accurate idle wireless resources of base station (BS). The method includes steps: wireless resources controller indicates information of idle resources of BS, reporting condition or reporting cycle needed to be reported by wireless resources controller; the idle resources includes one or combination from following parts: up going / down going average idle resources, maximal idle resources, minimal idle resources, and current available resource in each up going / down going traffic; based on arranged statistical cycle, wireless resources proxy makes periodic statistics for information of idle resources, and reports statistical relevant data in recent statistical cycle to the wireless resources controller when reporting condition is met or reporting cycle reaches. The said information of idle resources can be interacted between wireless resources controllers.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to WiMAX communication technology, in particular to a method for acquiring idle resources of a base station in a WiMAX system. Background technique [0002] The IEEE 802.16 standard defines the wireless metropolitan area network standard of BWA (Broadband Wireless Access). This standard defines different physical layer technologies for different frequency bands. marketers and SME (Small Enterprise, small business users) market. [0003] The MAC (MediaAccess Control, media access control layer) defined in IEEE 802.16 supports a very unfavorable user environment, can cope with the application environment that may have hundreds or thousands of users on each channel, and supports continuous and burst modes, etc. different business volumes. It has an ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode, asynchronous transfer mode) convergence sublayer and a packet convergence sublayer, and encapsulates multiple high-level data units into a MAC PDU (Media...
