Benefits of technology

[0020]More specifically, even if the image processing apparatus (personal computer) is configured to prevent leakage of confidential information by enabling only a part of employees to use the image processing apparatus (personal computer) after authenticating the user ID of the noncontact ID card (the card ID of the noncontact IC card), there is a problem that it is still impossible to stop a connection from being established fraudulently using the communication history.
[0098]According to the present invention, at least one of a first connection establishment request from a recipient to which its identification data was sent and a second connection establishment request from other than the recipient is accepted. Thus, establishment of a connection is facilitated, and a partner device with which a connection is to be established is selectable in accordance with a change in operational conditions, or a user's request.

Problems solved by technology

Moreover, after the printing is completed, it is necessary to do the extremely time-consuming work of inserting the memory into the mobile phone again.
In addition, there is a possibility that the user may forget to remove the memory from the memory card reader of the image forming apparatus after the completion of printing.
However, a complicated and time-consuming operation is required for pairing.
However, this distinguishing task is very difficult, and even if the user distinguishes the Bluetooth address properly, a small operation is needed thereafter to set the two devices to be ready to communicate with each other.
Hence, these system and method have, for example, a problem that they are not capable of satisfying connection establishment restricting requests necessary in work environment.
More specifically, even if the image processing apparatus (personal computer) is configured to prevent leakage of confidential information by enabling only a part of employees to use the image processing apparatus (personal computer) after authenticating the user ID of the noncontact ID card (the card ID of the noncontact IC card), there is a problem that it is still impossible to stop a connection from being established fraudulently using the communication history.
Thus, the image forming apparatus prohibits responding (sending of the identification data) to a connection request from other than the partner device with which the connection has been established.
Thus, the image forming apparatus prohibits responding (sending of the identification data) to a connection request from other devices.

embodiment 1

[0111]FIG. 1 is a conceptual view of a communication system, an information processing system and an image formation system of Embodiment 1, and FIG. 2 is a Block Diagram Illustrating Essential structures of the communication system, the information processing system and the image formation system of Embodiment 1. The communication system, information processing system and image formation system of Embodiment 1 include a digital multi-function peripheral 1 and a mobile phone 2.

[0112]The digital multi-function peripheral 1 comprises hardware, such as a control section 11, an image input section 17, an image processing section 18, an image output section 19, a storage section 14, a wireless communication section 16, a reader / writer 15, and an operation panel 12 which constitute as a whole the digital multi-function peripheral.

[0113]The control section 11 includes a CPU for controlling each of the above-mentioned hardware sections, and a RAM for temporarily storing data necessary for c...

embodiment 2

[0159]The Following Will Explain a Communication Process and an image formation process which are performed by a digital multi-function peripheral 1 and a mobile phone 2 in a communication system, an information processing system, and an image formation system according to Embodiment 2. Parts similar to those in Embodiment 1 described above will be designated with the same reference codes, and detailed explanations thereof will be omitted.

[0160]The following will explain an example in which an image on the basis of image data stored in a user's mobile phone 2 is printed by the digital multi-function peripheral 1. In the communication system, the information processing system and the image formation system of Embodiment 2, sending and receiving of a passkey is performed through the reader / writer 15 of the digital multi-function peripheral 1 and the contact / noncontact IC card 26 of the mobile phone 2. FIG. 6 is a flowchart illustrating the processing steps to be performed by the CPUs ...

embodiment 3

[0181]The Following Will Explain a Communication Process and an image formation process which are performed by a digital multi-function peripheral 1 and a mobile phone 2 in an information processing system and an image formation system according to Embodiment 3. Parts similar to those in Embodiment 1 described above will be designated with the same reference codes, and detailed explanations thereof will be omitted.

[0182]In Embodiment 3, when the CPU of the digital multi-function peripheral 1 sends the unique Bluetooth address (identification data, unique address) of the wireless communication section 16 through the reader / writer 15 to an external device, it stores this fact in the storage section 14.

[0183]In Embodiment 3, the operation panel 12 of the digital multi-function peripheral 1 has the “Connection Establishment Restriction” key for receiving from a user the selection of a connection establishment request to be accepted by the digital multi-function peripheral 1. When the us...

Abstract

After a digital multi-function peripheral establishes a connection with a mobile phone once, it rejects connection establishment requests made to a wireless communication section by other devices. Moreover, after a connection is established with a mobile phone once, the digital multi-function peripheral stops sending of the address of the wireless communication section through a reader / writer. After completing the sending / receiving of data, the digital multi-function peripheral and the mobile phone delete the addresses of their partner devices stored in them, respectively, for use in sending / receiving data.
