Embodiment Construction

[0038] Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. figure 1 Shown is a structural diagram of a RAKE receiver according to an embodiment of the present invention.

[0039] The correlation value calculation unit 2 calculates the correlation value of the reception signal input from the input terminal 1 and the spreading code at a fixed cycle at all RAKE-receivable timings. The calculated correlation value is input to the delay profile creation unit 3 and also to the difference history creation unit 6 . In addition, the definition of "correlation value" is the same as the conventional example.

[0040] As in the conventional example, the delay profile creation unit 3 adds the correlation value a predetermined number of times (hereinafter referred to as "Npow") at the device reception timing. Based on this, the average correlation value is calculated, and the result is notified to the path selection unit 4 as a delay profile...

Abstract

An object of the present invention is to provide a rake receiver and a receiving method for efficiently assigning paths to fingers in a CDMA mobile communication system. In the present invention, a correlation-value calculation section 2 calculates correlation values between spreading codes and reception signals input from an input terminal 1, at all timings at which rake reception is possible, and outputs the calculated correlation values to a delayed-profile creation section 3 and a difference-history creation section 6. The delayed-profile creation section 3 determines average correlation values and issues the values as a delayed profile to a path selection section 4. For each reception timing, the difference-history creation section 6 compares the latest correlation value issued from the correlation-value calculation section 2 with a previous correlation value held by the difference-history creation section 6, to determine a difference history, and issues the difference history to the path selection section 4. The path selection section 4 rearranges the delayed profile in decreasing order the average correlation values. When the delayed profile and the difference history satisfy all predetermined conditions, the path selection section 4 assigns the corresponding reception timing to a finger and issues the reception timing to the finger section 5.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a CDMA mobile communication system, in particular to a RAKE receiver and a receiving method for effectively selecting a path allocated to a finger. technical background [0002] The so-called CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) communication method is a communication method that assigns individual spreading codes to each user and realizes communication of a plurality of users based on this. It is characterized by active use of multipath (multipath). [0003] In wireless communication, a signal transmitted by a transmitter is affected by fading caused by movement of the transmitter or receiver, diffraction and attenuation due to obstacles, and the like. Thus the signal sent by the transmitter will be received by the receiver as a plurality of signals. The plurality of received signals is called multipath. Each received signal in a multipath is called a path. [0004] In TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access) and FDMA ...
