Abstract

The invention particularly relates to an irregular QC-LDPC code construction method based on a Fibonacci sequence and a GCD sequence. The method comprises the following steps: firstly, designing a basis matrix P with good performance, constructing a cyclic shift matrix H1 by using the GCD sequence and the Fibonacci sequence, and expanding the basis matrix P by the H1 to obtain a parity check matrix H. The method is simple in calculation, only needs to store extremely small protograph basis matrixes and sequences, saves hardware resources, can avoid four rings, improves error correction performance, and has no obvious error floor. Simulation shows that when the code rate of the irregular QC-LDPC code constructed by the construction method is 0.5 and the bit error rate (BER) is 10<-6>, compared with a finite length irregular FL-QC-LDPC code based on a trap set elimination, an irregular Type-I QC-LDPC code based on a complete difference set and a GL-QC-LDPC code capable of being quickly compiled based on a GCD algorithm, the net coding gains of the irregular QC-LDPC code are respectively improved by about 0.2 dB, 0.2 dB and 0.08 dB. When the code rate of the irregular QC-LDPC code is 0.6 and the bit error rate is 10<-7>, compared with a GL-QC-LDPC code and an RC-LDPC code based on matrix expansion, the net coding gains of the irregular QC-LDPC code are respectively improved by about 0.04 dB and 0.1 dB.
