According to the method, the maximization of the voltage sensitivity index is used as a site selection reference index of the synchronous phase modifier, so that the site selection has excellent reactive voltage support capability, the bus position most suitable for the newly-built phase modifier can be found, and an optimized strategy scheme is provided for reactive voltage support of the system. Meanwhile, in combination with electromagnetic transient simulation, rapid and accurate voltage sensitivity index calculation can be realized, and the site selection efficiency of the phase modifier is improved.
