According to the special container for the lithium ion energy storage system and the using method of the container, cooling and isolating devices are arranged between every two adjacent battery clusters and on one side of the last battery cluster respectively; an electrically operated valve is arranged above each cooling and isolating device; a spray head and a detector are sequentially arranged above each battery cluster; one end of each electrically operated valve is connected with the spray head through a water pipe; the other end of each electrically operated valve is connected with the cooling coil of the corresponding cooling and isolating device through a water pipe; the cooling coils are connected in series; the water inlet ends of the cooling coils are connected with a circulating pump; the water return ends of the cooling coils are connected with the circulating pump through a medium storage tank; and a controller is connected with the circulating pump, the electrically operated valves and the detectors. When the container is in a normal working state, a medium in the medium storage tank is subjected to closed-loop circulation by the circulating pump through the cooling and isolating devices, so that a cooling function is realized; when the detector reaches an alarm threshold value, an alarm is started, the electric valve is opened, the medium in the circulating pipeline is sprayed out from the spray head, and the effects of extinguishing fire, reducing temperature and cooling are achieved.
