The protection assembly comprises a protection layer and a protection plate; the protection layer covers the second substrate and the side surfaces of the second substrate, the second conductive layer and the color changing material layer; and the protection plate covers the side, away from the second substrate, of the protection layer. According to the electrochromic module provided by the embodiment of the invention, the protection layer structure is formed on the surface, far away from the second conductive layer, of the second substrate and the side surfaces of the second substrate, the second conductive layer and the color changing material layer, so that the requirement of water and oxygen transmittance can be met under the condition that a water and oxygen barrier film is not used, the width of an adhesive frame can be reduced, namely, the size of a black edge is reduced, and the overall attractiveness of the whole electrochromic module is improved.
