Abstract

Systems and methods for determining whether to enable color blind accessibility settings within the course of a user interactive narrative are described herein. Virtual color blindness indication objects containing colors that are visibly distinguishable within a single dichromatic visual spectrum can be utilized in objectives to determine a user's dichromatic visual deficiency type.

Description

Background technique [0001] Modern virtual environments, such as video games, often assume that users do not require modifications for colorblind accessibility. Often, the settings of the virtual environment—including those for color-blind accessibility—are not available during the introduction of user-interactive narratives. Because of this limitation, color-blind users of video games often miss key visual cues for navigating in virtual environments and progressing through user-interactive narratives. Contents of the invention [0002] The present disclosure provides a system for automatically determining, enabling, and adjusting colorblindness accessibility settings during a gameplay session of a video game utilizing a colorblindness pointing object. Aspects of the present disclosure may help address the problem of enabling colorblind accessibility settings in video games. Aspects of the present disclosure also address adjustment of bichromatic colorblindness accessibili...
