Abstract

The invention discloses a virtual MAC method and device for power line communication, and the method comprises the steps: firstly judging whether it is a single-hop network or a multi-hop network existing between a source node and a target node when a power line communication network is a multi-protocol network, carrying out the re-editing of an MAC protocol of the source node according to the MAC protocol of the target node if the network is the single-hop network, therefore, the two can communicate; and if the current node belongs to the multi-hop network, packaging the data to be sent of the current node according to the MAC protocol of the next node, so that the current node can communicate with the next node, and continuously repeating the process, so that the data to be sent is packaged by the middle multi-layer MAC protocol and then sent to the destination node. According to the virtual MAC method, heterogeneous networking can be carried out under power communication networks with different communication protocols, the limitation that power line communication cannot carry out communication under different protocols is broken through, and therefore the technical problem that an existing power communication network cannot carry out heterogeneous networking communication under different communication protocols is solved.
