Abstract

The invention relates to an exhaust gas after-treatment system for a combustion engine (10). The exhaust gas after-treatment system of the present invention is provided with an exhaust device (20) that can be connected to an exhaust port (18) of the combustion engine (10). A three-way catalyst (28) close to the engine is arranged in the flow direction of exhaust gas of the combustion engine (10) through an exhaust passage (22) of the exhaust device (20), and a second catalyst and a particle reduction device are arranged downstream of the three-way catalyst (28) close to the engine. A fuel injector is arranged on the exhaust gas duct (22), by means of which fuel can be injected downstream of a three-way catalyst (28) close to the engine and upstream of a second catalyst, and the exhaust device (20) comprises a secondary air system through which secondary air can be blown into the exhaust passage (22) downstream of a three-way catalyst (28) near the engine and upstream of a second catalyst. The invention also relates to a method for the exhaust gas after-treatment of the combustion engine (10) having the exhaust gas after-treatment system.
