A vehicle ultraviolet disinfection system and a method of disinfecting a vehicle using the same are provided. The disinfection system comprises an ultraviolet disinfection device, a vehicle air conditioner, an in-vehicle temperature sensor and a controller, wherein the controller is connected with the ultraviolet disinfection device, the in-vehicle temperature sensor and the vehicle air conditioner and is configured to determine whether the vehicle air conditioner is turned on or not according to the in-vehicle temperature provided by the in-vehicle temperature sensor before the ultraviolet disinfection device is turned on and turn on the vehicle air conditioner after the ultraviolet disinfection device is turned off.
