One specific embodiment of the method comprises the steps of acquiring reading mode information of a user for a target document, wherein the target document comprises a document body and additional information, and the additional information isstored in an additional information area; storing the target document as a document recording structure integrated with the edition and the flow, wherein the edition and stream integrated document recording structure stores edition documents, stream format content frameworks, associated records and additional information; analyzing and displaying the target document according to the reading modeinformation; and in response to the user updating the additional information, updating and storing the additional information in the additional information area. According to the method, the documentprocessing method meeting the requirements of different reading modes is achieved, meanwhile, the synchronous reading device supporting the document processing method is provided, and good reading experience is provided for users.
