Abstract

The invention provides a self-adaptive shielding detection system and method in video tracking, and the system comprises a background tracker which tracks a background small block of a shielding target and a background small block around the target according to a tracking result of the target tracker to the target; a shielding detector used for judging the position relation between the target andthe background small block according to the tracking results of the target tracker and the background tracker, and outputting the position of the background small block for shielding the target; a template updater used for calculating the shielding degree of the target, updating the target template when the shielding degree is smaller than a threshold value, and stopping updating the target template when the shielding degree is larger than or equal to the threshold value; and a search range predictor used for changing the tracking range of the target tracker to the target according to the shielding degree of the target. According to the invention, the background tracker is introduced to track the background small block, and the shielding information of the previous frame is utilized to setthe self-adaptive threshold value, so that the relationship between the background and the target can be judged better, and the shielding can be detected more accurately.
