Embodiment Construction

[0049] In the narrow-beam, long-coverage radar application contemplated by the present invention, it can be assumed that the target has no radial motion relative to the radar. For the mentioned radar application range, the main requirements that are most concerned are usually: maximum operating range, range resolution, and the time period for the radar to provide measurement data. The theoretical method and complete technical scheme provided by the present invention not only solve the system scheme design of the narrow beam and long coverage radar, but also provide the implementation basis for the design of each component.

[0050] In the radar scheme of the present invention, a digital signal processor (DSP) is used to extract target distance information. Commercial embedded processors can be used as DSP processors in principle, but a compromise needs to be made on various indicators and prices. Interconnecting the aforementioned dual-channel ADC output with the DSP requires ...

Abstract

A long-range FMCW radar with a narrow beam width is realized with a self-developed technology, which is not only used for traffic flow detection, but also for detecting target presence, measuring static target distance and collecting environmental object distribution images, and achieving low-cost and high-performance comprehensive goals. The radar is composed of a microwave front end, an intermediate frequency analog circuit module, and a digital signal processor, and uses a stepped linear frequency modulation continuous wave system. The microwave front end comprises a transmitting antenna and a receiving antenna that have blade beams, and a microwave transmitting and receiving circuit with a power amplifier. In design schemes of the antenna, the receiving and transmitting circuit, an intermediate frequency analog circuit and a radar system, a number of independently created technologies are used, comprising the design of an antenna with minimized discontinuities, the design of a non-equal splitter and a high impedance mixer circuit, an excellent stepped linear modulation signal generator, a new radar time base synchronization method, the optimal bandwidth design for a radar channel filter. A theoretical argument in accordance with the physical sources is given for the stepped linear frequency modulated radar technology, which guarantees a reliable basis for the given design.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention belongs to the field of electronic information technology, and proposes a narrow-beam, long-coverage FMCW radar, and its application involves intelligent transportation, intelligent city and the like. technical background [0002] A typical example of a narrow-beam, long-coverage FMCW radar is the SmartSensor traffic flow detection radar produced by Wavetronix in the United States. The directivity of the radar antenna is blade-shaped, with an azimuth of 7° and a height of 65°. The radar uses the FMCW (Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave) system. Because the elevation angle is 65°, the radar can cover a distance range of about 76 meters, and can cover up to 10 lanes when used for traffic flow detection. SmartSensor radar failed to open in China's traffic application market because of price, technical adaptability, and technical service cost. There are traffic radar companies in China that develop similar radars and use foreign radar fron...
