The method comprises the following steps of: (1) performing soil preparation, fertilization and pesticideapplication on soil of an arid or semi-arid high-altitude region according to a conventional method for planting Lonicera japonica, and performing digging to form small ditches which have a depth of 10-15 cm and a width of 15-20 cm at a line spacing of 120 cm by using a small sharp hoe; (2) selecting black mulching film with a width of 120 cm and a thickness of 0.015 mm, performing film mulching along the ditches, pressing the film with a soil belt every 2-3 m so as to form small V-shaped rain-collecting ditches, and remaining a sidewalk with a width of 30-40 cm between every two ditches; and(3) opening seepage holes at a plant spacing of 70 cm one week after film mulching is conducted, and performing final planting of the Lonicera japonica and conventional field management in spring of anext year. Through the method, natural rainfall can be collected and stored effectively.
