Abstract

The invention relates to a protection switching method, a network device and a system, and belongs to the technical field of communication. The method comprises the steps that: if n links bearing client services in a FlexE link group are unavailable, a first network device selects at least one link as a protection link from other links, except the n links, in the FlexE link group; the first network device sends a calendar request to a second network device through the protection link; the first network device receives calendar acknowledge sent by the second network device through the protection link; and the client services transmitted on the n links are switched onto the protection link to be transmitted. According to the protection switching method, the network device and the system disclosed by the invention, on one hand, application requirements of the FlexE on protection switching can be satisfied; on the other hand, a dedicated link does not need to be reserved as the protectionlink in the FlexE link group; the resource waste problem can be effectively solved in a manner of selecting the protection link according to requirements; and thus, bandwidth resources can be saved easily.
