Abstract

The application provides a link state checking method and device based on ERPS (Ethernet Ring Protection Switching), which are applied to a main node of an Ethernet ring network. The main node comprises a main port and an auxiliary port which are adjacent to adjacent nodes, wherein the auxiliary port is in a blocked state when a target link is normal. The method comprises the steps of: based on apreset period, sending a health state checking message by the main port; and if not receiving the health state checking message from the auxiliary port in a preset time-out period, determining that the target link has a fault. According to the application, resource consumption generated when each node CPU processes a CCM (Continuity Check Message) is reduced, and the link state checking method anddevice avoids the problem that each node CPU processes a great amount of messages to cause packet loss of the CCM so as to generate misjudgment on a link state of the Ethernet ring network and even cause frequent link switching of the Ethernet ring network.
