Abstract

The invention discloses a communication method and device in an unlicensed spectrum. The method comprises the steps that a base station and user equipment (UE) establish a data service carried by a unlicensed carrier; the base station determines whether or not the unlicensed carrier generates competitive congestion in a data transmission process between the base station and the UE; when the unlicensed carrier generates the competitive congestion, the base station increases the maximum number of retransmission times of a hybrid automatic repeated request (HARQ) or increases the timing length of a RLC retransmission polling timer. Thus, the method uses fast retransmission of the HARQ as much as possible, enhances the tolerance of the RLC retransmission, avoids excessive unnecessary retransmission of an RLC layer just due to untimely acquisition of a unlicensed carrier resource, solves HARQ and RLC retransmission problems generated during communication in the unlicensed spectrum, shortens user delay and improves data transmission efficiency.
