The prepreg compound is prepared from a benzoxazine resin system and glass cloth through a melting method, wherein the benzoxazine resin system comprises benzoxazine, a release agent, an optional filler and an optional curing agent. When the honeycomb core is prepared through the prepreg compound provided by the invention, the method comprises the steps of pressing the prepreg compound into repetitive semi-regular hexagon ripple structure honeycomb panels, which are connected at interval, by adopting compression molding, and then curing every two repetitive semi-regular hexagon ripple structure honeycomb panels which are connected at interval and are opposite in a concave-convex way to form a preformed honeycomb core with two coincided and cohesive sides; further curing the preformed honeycomb core to obtain the honeycomb core. The method provided by the invention has the advantages of simple forming, low cost, and easiness for large-scale production, and the prepared honeycomb core has favorable flame retardant property and favorable mechanical property.
