The control method comprises the following steps: an air purifier determines a working strength mode according to a detection result of the air quality sensors; when the quantity of the air quality sensors with good detection results in all the detected air quality sensors accounts for a percentage being greater than 80%, the working mode of the air purifier is a low shift; and when the quantity of the air quality sensors with good detection results in all the detected air quality sensors accounts for a percentage between 50% and 80%, the working mode of the air purifier is an intermediate shift; and when the quantity of the air quality sensors with good detection results in all the detected air quality sensors accounts for a percentage being less than 50%, the working mode of the air purifier is a high shift.
