Abstract

The invention discloses a scale-like potassium titanate preparation method which comprises the steps of mixing raw materials-smashing-once calcining-washing in solution-acid and alkali treating-filter pressing-drying-secondary calcining. In acid and alkali treating, a product is soaked in sulfuric acid solution to be treated, 99% or more of ions of the product are replaced by hydrogen ions or hydronium ions, and the product is converted into multilayer titanic acid; furthermore, 5 to 40 equivalent weight of alkali compound with an interlayer expansion effect acts on the multilayer titanic acid to adjust the thickness of the multilayer titanic acid. The invention further discloses a brake pad. A potassium hexatitanate friction enhancing material prepared through the preparation method disclosed by the invention has the following advantages: 1, the material is poisonless and harmless; 2, the material has stable performance, friction coefficients hardly change along with temperature change, and the defect that a non-asbestos organic formula has poor high temperature recession and high temperature abrasion is overcome; 3, use temperature is high and can be 1000 DEG C; 4, the material is wear-resistant and has long service life; 5, the material can be applied to the brake pad and is free of sound in brake, free of corroding hubs and free of environmental pollution.
