Application of red beet as edible plant source nitric oxide replenisher
A technology of nitric oxide and red beet, applied in the directions of plant raw materials, plant/algae/fungus/moss ingredients, anti-inflammatory agents, etc., can solve the problems of low content and no development value, etc., to reduce high blood pressure, improve Vascular endothelial function and the effect of enhancing exercise endurance

Embodiment 1
[0037] Example 1 Separation of red beet nitro compounds
[0038] Red beets are medium-sized (such as figure 1 , each with a wet weight of about 200-300 grams). Through the quantitative determination of fresh red beet, it was found that red beet roots, stems, and leaves all have high levels of nitro compounds that can be converted into nitric oxide ( figure 2 , with nitro NO3- as the conversion unit), among which, the root content is the highest, and it is significantly higher than that of fresh American ginseng (commonly known as American ginseng) produced in Wisconsin, USA ( figure 2 ); after drying red beets, red beetroots were found to contain higher levels of nitro compounds that can be converted to nitric oxide ( image 3 ).
[0039] The separation process of nitro compounds in red beet: dry or fresh red beet with 20,000g of plastic balls, crushed for 2 minutes, add pure water, centrifuge at 10,000g for 2 minutes, the supernatant of dissolved water is rich in nitro ...
Embodiment 2
[0044] Example 2 Application of isolated nitro compounds to reduce high blood pressure
[0045] After drinking red beet juice to volunteers with hypertension for about 1 to 2 hours, the blood pressure of the volunteers began to drop steadily, and the heart rate did not change significantly ( Figure 6 ), and this benefit can last for a long time. Volunteers were monitored drinking red beet juice containing 300 mg of nitric oxide donors. Blood pressure began to drop within an hour. 6 to 9 hours blood pressure reached the maximum drop. This antihypertensive effect can last for about 12 hours. This is consistent with the metabolism of nitric oxide donors in vivo.
[0046] Nitric oxide donors also reach peak absorption in 6-9 hours ( Figure 7 ). In order to achieve a better antihypertensive effect, drinking twice a day (every 12 hours) is a better way. Based on the results, the inventors deduced that the effect should be the result of the relaxation of vascular smooth musc...
Embodiment 3
[0048] Example 3 Application of isolated decolorized red beet juice (colorless nitro compound) to study the effect on blood pressure
[0049] Since the inventor has proved through a series of experiments that the nitro compound of red beet is a colorless multi-molecular complex, the effect of decolorized red beet juice on blood pressure was further observed. Red beet juice has two absorption spectra, yellow-green at 480 nm and magenta at 540 nm. After activated carbon decolorization, at least 95% of the pigment has been removed ( Figure 8 A). Nitric oxide donor levels were measured and 300 mg administered to hypertensive volunteers. Observe the changes in blood pressure within 12 hours. Similarly decolorized red beet juice lowered blood pressure similarly to application of red beet juice ( Figure 8 B). This set of data fully demonstrated that the nitric oxide donors with antihypertensive effect in red beet are multi-component colorless nitro compounds.
