An embodiment of the invention discloses a data center-based fault analysis method which comprises the following steps: a topology structure diagram is obtained, and nodes in the topology structure diagram comprise constituent devices of a data center and virtual machines operating at the data center; when a fault occurs at the data center, a fault warning is obtained, and whether the fault causes communication paths between all the virtual machines in virtual machine groups operating at the data center to decrease is determined according to the topology structure diagram. Through use of the method, actual influence exerted by the fault on all businesses running at the data center can be analyzed, and data center fault analysis accuracy can be improved.
