Abstract

The invention discloses a method and device for transmitting character data through sound wave, wherein the method comprises the following steps that: a sending end compresses the character data to generate transmission data, converts the transmission data on a corresponding sound wave frequency to generate continuous audio information, and sends the continuous audio information, such that each syllable of the audio information includes one or more frequency signals; and, while receiving the audio information, a receiving end analyzes the frequency signals from the audio information, obtains the transmission data from the frequency signals, and decompresses the transmission data to obtain the character data. According to the method and device for transmitting the character data through sound wave disclosed by the invention, the character data in a sound wave transmission data source is compressed; the coding length of the transmitted data is reduced; the transmission efficiency is increased; the bit error rate is reduced; data transmission is carried out on the basis of multi-frequency sound wave; each syllable includes multiple frequencies; the coding information of each syllable is increased; and the code rate is increased.
