Abstract

The invention discloses a sun-image-movement-based atmosphere turbulence measurement apparatus and a method thereof. The apparatus comprises a sun image capturing component array, an automatic guide adapter, a solar orientation program, a synchronous controller, a daytime atmospheric turbulence measurement procedure and an equatorial telescope. The sun image capturing component array consists of two or three sets of sun image capturing components formed by band-pass filters, small telescopes, magnification lens combination units and cameras. The solar orientation program controls the equatorial telescope to complete sun position correction and automatic sun tracking by the automatic guide adapter. The daytime atmospheric turbulence measurement procedure controls the sun image capturing component array to collect a sun image synchronously by the synchronous controller to obtain an overall atmosphere seeing and a medium-resolution atmosphere turbulence profile. According to the invention, the sun can be tracked automatically; the overall sun surface can be observed; field installation and debugging can be realized conveniently; and the long-term operation demand can be satisfied.
