Abstract

The invention discloses an electric vehicle antitheft device which comprises a relay coil and two relay normally-closed contacts connected with the relay coil. The relay coil is in parallel connection with a storage battery of an electric vehicle. The two voltage type relay normally-closed contacts are connected between A and B phases and between B and C phases of a three-phase winding of a stator of a brushless direct current motor of the electric vehicle respectively. An anti-theft battery and a sound warning device do not need to be added to the device additionally, and the electric vehicle antitheft device is simple in structure and low in cost and can still achieve antitheft even if the storage battery is stolen. The invention further discloses a method for applying the electric vehicle antitheft device. The method comprises the steps that when a connected line of the storage battery is cut off, the relay coil is subjected to power down, the two voltage type relay normally-closed contacts are in a closed state, the three-phase winding of the stator of the brushless direct current motor is short-circuited through the two relay normally-closed contacts, a rotor of the brushless direct current motor cannot rotate, and wheels of the electric vehicle are locked, so that the goal of electric vehicle antitheft is achieved.
