Embodiment

[0060] Prototype has figure 1 The tires (tire size: 315 / 80R22.5) with the basic pattern shown and based on the specifications in Table 1 were tested.

[0061] Each test method is as follows.

[0062]

[0063] The rolling resistance of each test tire was measured using a rolling resistance testing machine. The detailed conditions are as follows. The result was shown by the reciprocal of the rolling resistance, and the value of "Example 1" was set to 100 by the index. The larger the numerical value, the better the rolling performance.

[0064] Rim: 22.5×9.00

[0065] Internal pressure: 850kPa

[0066] Longitudinal load: 33.34kN

[0067] Speed: 80km / h

[0068]

[0069] Based on the single tire noise test method specified in ECE-R117-02, the passing noise level of each test tire was measured when running at a center speed of 70km / h. The results are represented by an index that takes the reciprocal of the passing noise level and assumes that the value of "Example 1" is ...

Abstract

This invention provides a pneumatic tire that improves rolling performance and wear resistance and reduces noise without decreasing wet performance. Said pneumatic tire (1) is provided with a plurality of main grooves (3) in a tread section (2). Each main groove (3) has, in a cross-section perpendicular to the lengthwise direction of said groove, a first floor (3A) and a pair of first walls (3B, 3B) that extend smoothly from said first floor (3A) towards the tread surface (S). The width (W1) of each main groove (3) between the first walls (3B) thereof at the tread surface (S) is between 2.0 and 20.0 mm, inclusive, and the depth (D) of each main groove (3) from the tread surface (S) to the first floor (3A) of said main groove (3) is at least 10.0 mm. For each main groove (3), the quotient (W1/alpha) of the width (W1, in millimeters) of that main groove (3) and the angle (alpha, in degrees) that the first walls (3B) of said main groove (3) make with a normal to the tread surface (S) is between 1.0 and 2.0 mm/degree, inclusive.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a pneumatic tire provided with a plurality of main grooves extending continuously in the tire circumferential direction on a tread portion. Background technique [0002] Conventionally, a pneumatic tire has been proposed that employs a tread pattern in which a plurality of main grooves extending continuously in the tire circumferential direction are provided on a tread portion (see, for example, Patent Document 1 below). The tread portion includes a tread rubber formed to include a cap gom layer and a base gom layer. In such tires, the thicknesses of the top rubber layer and the bottom rubber layer are respectively limited in order to achieve both wear resistance and rolling performance. [0003] In recent years, the performance display of tires has been implemented in the market. The performance of tires includes, for example, rolling performance, low-noise performance, wet performance, wear resistance, and the like,...
