Problems solved by technology

However, the combination of the guide and eye drop dispenser in the stowed position increases the overall bulk compared to the eye drop dispenser alone, making it less practical to carry and use
Furthermore, the guide consists of at least two separate parts, which increases its complexity and manufacturing costs

Embodiment Construction

[0020] In the drawings, the same parts are denoted by the same reference symbols.

[0021] figure 1 The guide 2 of the eye drop dispenser according to the invention is shown. The various features of the guide are advantageously arranged to facilitate application of the eye drop solution in an easily controlled, rapid, safe, and repeatable manner. The guide 2 comprises mounting means formed as an open collar 6 (hereinafter "collar") for clamping the guide 2 to an eye drop dispenser 4 (hereinafter "dispenser"). refer to figure 2 , the collar 6 is adapted to be elastically deformable under manual pressure so that it can be pushed through and fixed detachably to the neck region of the dispenser 4 . The opening of the collar 6 tapers outwards to facilitate correct positioning of the guide 2 before the collar 6 is pushed through the neck of the dispenser 4 . A wall 8 extends downwardly from the periphery of the collar 6 and is configured to sit on a shoulder of the dispenser 4 ...

Abstract

A guide 2 for delivering an eye drop solution from a dispenser bottle 4 to a users eye under gravity, the guide 2 comprising an attachment device 6 for removably attaching the guide 2 to the dispenser bottle 4. Two arms 14 extending outwardly from the attachment device 6 and a positioning member 16 bridging the ends of the arms 14, the positioning member 16 having a semi-circle profile. Two living hinges 12 connecting the attachment device 6 to the arms 14 at the ends remote from the positioning member 16, the living hinges 12 being adapted to rotate the guide 2 between a stowed position and an operational position repeatedly when the guide 2 is attached to the dispenser bottle 4, such that when in the operational position the positioning member 16 is arranged between the dispenser bottle 4 and the users eye. The guide 2 further comprising a first locking arrangement 18,20 for locking the guide in the operational position.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a detachable guide for positioning an eye drop dispenser relative to a user's eye during eye drop administration. Background technique [0002] Self-administration of eye drops using gravity can be a difficult task, especially due to the awkward posture of the user when administering the eye drops. When using eye drops, users need to tilt their head back and hold the eye drop dispenser directly over the eye to be treated. Not only is this position difficult to administer eye drops accurately, causing the eye to be missed altogether in some cases, it can also lead to loss of depth perception. The latter effect may make it difficult for some users to estimate how far the eye drop dispenser is from the eye to be treated. These issues could cause users to lose confidence in the ability of their eye drops to self-administer. [0003] Various directors have been proposed that attempt to address these issues. One such guid...
