[0035] figure 1 The schematic diagram of shows the two channel walls 1 of the channel for guiding the water 2 , the water thus being the measurement medium whose conductivity or resistivity is to be detected here. Two electrodes 3 , which can also be referred to as probes 3 , are guided liquid-tight through one of the channel walls 1 in order to conduct a measurement current between them for detecting the conductivity of the water 2 or of the measurement medium 2 . The electrode 3 is connected to its secondary side 52 at the transformer 5 . The transformer 5 is supplied with a primary-side alternating voltage on its primary side 51 , which is generated by the alternator 6 . For this purpose, the alternator 6 is activated by means of corresponding switching signals from a microcontroller 7 , which is also called μController for short. The alternator 6 thus generates an alternating voltage via pulse width modulation, which is thus input at this primary side 51 of the transform...

Abstract

The invention relates to a method and device for detecting conductivity in an instant electric water heater. The measurement device comprises at least two measurement electrodes for being arranged in a water guiding channel separately; a measurement electronic device for providing and analyzing electrical signals influenced by the conductivity of the water; and a transformer, wherein the measurement electronic device is connected to a primary side of the transformer, and the two measurement electrodes are connected to a secondary side of the transformer, so that the measurement electronic device is allowed to be coupled with the measurement electrodes through the transformer. The measurement electronic device provides a primary-side alternating voltage signal on the primary side of the transformer according to rules, so that a secondary-side alternating current passing through the measurement electrodes and the water is set on the secondary side of the transformer according to the conductivity of the water, and the secondary-side alternating current influences the current of the primary side on the primary side of the transformer; and the measurement electronic device measures the current of the primary side for determining the conductivity. Besides, the invention also relates to the instant electric water heater for heating the water.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a measuring device for detecting the conductivity of water in an instant electric water heater, and also relates to an instant electric water heater equipped with the measuring device. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a method of detecting the conductivity of water in an electric tankless water heater. Background technique [0002] Instantaneous electric water heaters are known, which heat the water by means of one or more electric heating coils, in particular formed with bare heating wires, or by means of similar heating means, while the water flows through them. Such instant electric water heaters are especially suitable for domestic use, and the water heated by said instant electric water heater is then usually used directly after heating, which applies not only in terms of time but also in terms of location. Such use could be, for example, showering or washing hands. The danger due to the current flow of the ...
