Abstract

The invention discloses a liquid crystal composition containing a fluoroterphenyl compound and a pentafluoropropenyl ester compound and an application thereof. The liquid crystal composition comprises the following components in parts by weight: 1) 1-30 parts of one or more compounds represented by a general formula I; 2) 1-60 parts of one or more compounds represented by a general formula II; 3) 10-70 parts of one or more compounds represented by a general formula III; and 4) 0-50 parts of compounds represented by general formulas IV-VI. The liquid crystal composition disclosed by the invention has the characteristics of low viscosity, high electrical resistivity, proper optical anisotropy, large elastic constant and the like as well as excellent light stability and heat stability, can reduce the response time of a liquid crystal display so as to solve the problem of slow response of the liquid crystal display, and is applicable to fast-response TFT liquid crystal display devices of TN, IPS and FFS types.
