Provided are a method for controlling a multi-split air conditioner, and a system for controlling the multi-split air conditioner. The multi-split air conditioner comprises a new air indoor unit (3). The method for controlling the multi-split air conditioner comprises the following steps: S1: measuring an outlet air temperature of the new air indoor unit (3), an outdoor environmental temperature, a system pressure of the multi-split air conditioner, and air intake and discharge temperatures of a compressor (5) of the multi-split air conditioner all of which are used as control parameters; and S2: based on the capacity condition of the multi-split air conditioner and the measured outdoor environmental temperature condition, controlling capability output of the multi-split air conditioner according to the system pressure or the air outlet temperature. By using the technical solutions of the present invention, the effective operation of the multi-split air conditioner integrating a new fan and an ordinary indoor unit is ensured under the control of the control system, while the comfort and the reliability are considered.
