Problems solved by technology

[0003] The insect-resistant transgenic cultivated rice has been bred and released into the environment for risk assessment. These environmental risks include the escape of the insect-resistant transgene to the wild relatives of cultivated rice (weedy rice and wild rice) through gene drift, which may cause the wild relatives of cultivated rice. Altered fitness of relatives leading to severe weed problems and extinction of wild relatives
However, if the insect-resistant transgenic cultivated rice is directly released into the environment for environmental risk assessment experiments, the transgene may be transferred to the natural population of wild relatives of cultivated rice due to gene drift. If the supervision is weak, it will lead to environmental risks. The regulation of GMOs will cost a lot of human, material and financial resources

Abstract

The invention belongs to the technical field of environmental biological safety detection and relates to a gene escape detection method. Cultivated rice, weedy rice and wild rice groups serve as analysis materials, hood cage conditions are utilized, planting is performed in the environment which is free of insect pressure of target pests and the environment which is high in insect pressure, fitness traits of the groups are measured, average compound fitness values of the groups are calculated, comparison and analysis are performed on differences of the average compound fitness values of the weedy rice or wild rice groups and the cultivated rice, and the environmental risk caused by a gene escape and the degree of the environmental risk are predicted. According to the gene escape detection method, the fitness differences caused by transgenes and the potential environmental risk of the fitness differences are detected and analyzed without transgenic plants and accordingly the detection result is reliable, the environmental risk caused by mismanagement on the transgenes is avoided, and the gene escape detection method is beneficial to environmental safety evaluation of commercial production of transgenic cultivated rice.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention belongs to the technical field of environmental biosafety detection of biotechnology, relates to a detection method for gene escape, and specifically relates to the use of selection pressure to simulate the fitness benefits brought by insect-resistant transgenes, thereby detecting wild insect-resistant transgenes escaping into cultivated rice. Approaches to the potential and magnitude of environmental risks posed by closely related species, including weedy and wild rice. Background technique [0002] According to research reports, the rapid development of transgenic technology has greatly promoted the cultivation and planting of insect-resistant transgenic plants. As well as my country's food security have brought new opportunities. It is known that transgenic biotechnology has been identified as a major goal of my country's future breeding development, and more transgenic plant varieties will be bred and released into the environment; ho...
