The positioning method comprises the steps of informing the terminal of difference threshold information, wherein the difference threshold information is used for indicating a difference threshold for reference signal measurement values when one cell is aligned to two cells; receiving cell subset information determined by the terminal according to the difference threshold information, wherein the cell subset information is used for indicating a cell pair of which the reference signal measurement value exceeds the difference threshold, or the cell subset information is used for indicating the cell pair of which the reference signal measurement value is no more than the difference threshold; according to the cell subset information, determining the configuration of a positioning reference signal (PRS), and informing the terminal of the configuration of the PRS; and receiving a reference signal time difference (RSTD) obtained by the terminal through measurement according to the configuration of the PRS, and determining the position of the terminal according to the RSTD.
