Problems solved by technology

In actual control, the flipping speed of the micromirror can reach thousands of times per second, and the "on" and "off" states of each micromirror are different. The control signal puts forward special requirements, such as turn-on response time, optimal driving voltage and optimal driving waveform, etc. These objective factors put forward strict requirements for the driving waveform of the digital micromirror. Different products require different Drive waveform, and there is no universal drive waveform generator, if the drive circuit is modified accordingly, it is bound to be a waste of energy and money

Embodiment Construction

[0030] refer to figure 1 , the present invention is made up of PC, digital micromirror driver, voltage converter three parts. The PC communicates with the digital micromirror driver through USB, and can realize waveform editing, parameter setting and modification on the PC; the original driving signal generated by the digital micromirror driver is transmitted to the voltage converter, and the voltage converter converts the load current Feedback to the digital micromirror driver; the voltage of the voltage converter is directly supplied by the external power supply, and the size can be adjusted by the power supply, and the adjustment range is 30V-60V.

[0031] refer to figure 2 , the digital micromirror driver of the present invention includes ARM (microprocessor, model S3C2440), FPGA (programmable logic device, model EP3C16F484C6N), TFT touch screen, SDRAM (dynamic random access memory), FLASH, DDR2 (dynamic random access memory) and light source controller.

Abstract

The invention discloses a driving waveform generator for digital micromirror devices. The driving waveform generator comprises a PC (personal computer), a digital micromirror driver and a voltage converter. The PC communicates with the digital micromirror driver for parameter editing and inputting through USB (universal serial bus). A touch screen is used as a man-machine interface to make control and operation convenient and simple. An ARM (advanced RISC machine) transmits waveform parameters to an FPGA to allow for formation of original driving waveform (field programmable gate array) by 32-bit parallel communications. High level of drive voltage can be raised to 15V-200V by boosting of the voltage converter, and the adjustment is convenient and simple. Load current is fed back to the ARM to allow for automatic adjustment. By the use of the driving waveform generator, the problem that the existing digital micromirror device driving waveform generation circuit is single is solved. Power can be adjusted to obtain variable waveforms and adjustable voltage by changing parameters without changing the driving circuit, and driving waveforms of digital micromirrors are automatically adjusted.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the field of digital micromirror drive development for displaying images, in particular to an arbitrarily adjustable digital micromirror drive waveform generator. Background technique [0002] Among the latest projection technologies, the projection system based on DLP (Digital Light Processing) is the most competitive, mainly because of its small size, compact structure, light weight, and the images displayed at the same time are rich in color, high in brightness, high in contrast, and high in definition. it is good. [0003] Digital micromirror device was researched by Dr. Larry Hornbeck of American TI Company in 1977, and has been developed and perfected all the time. Digital micromirror devices are mainly used in projection systems, but in recent years TI has been committed to mining and expanding its applications, such as stereoscopic display, lithography, microdisplay and wide-spectrum applications.
