Problems solved by technology

However, there is a problem: the sensitivity when using these biomarkers is basically the same as or lower than that of fecal occult blood method
However, there is no report at all about the possibility of using the CKB content in feces as a marker for colorectal cancer.

[0109]

[0110] There were 10 patients with small adenoma of the large intestine (tumor size 5-9 mm), 24 patients with progressive adenoma of the large intestine (tumor size above 10 mm), and 111 patients with colorectal cancer (25 early cancer and 86 progressive cancer) ), 12 patients with upper gastrointestinal cancer (10 patients with gastric cancer, 2 patients with esophageal cancer), and 113 healthy normal people provided feces. Each patient was confirmed by endoscopy and histology. In this example, no neoplastic lesions (but not including adenomatous polyps and hyperplastic polyps less than 5 mm), obvious inflammatory changes in the large intestine, and no hemorrhagic lesions, systemic diseases, and progressive cancers were confirmed. as a healthy person. In addition, among the 111 patients with colorectal cancer, 11 were in stage 0, 24 were in stage I, 37 were in stage II, 25 were in stage III, and 14 were in stage IV. Moreover, prior oral or written informed consen...

Abstract

Disclosed is a method for detecting colorectal tumor, particularly advanced adenoma and early cancer, in which a component contained in feces is employed as a measure. Specifically disclosed is a colorectal tumor detection method using a marker gene, which comprises the steps of (A) extracting RNA from feces collected from a subject, (B) measuring the amount of RNA derived from the marker gene contained in the RNA that has been obtained in step (A), and (C) comparing the amount of the RNA derived from the marker gene which has been measured in step (B) with a threshold value that has been determined previously depending on the type of the marker gene, and which is characterized in that the marker gene is CKB (creatine kinase B) gene.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a method for detecting colorectal tumors, especially progressive adenomas and early cancers, using marker genes. More specifically, it relates to a method for detecting whether or not a subject from which the stool is collected has a colorectal tumor, using the amount of marker gene-derived RNA contained in the stool as an index. [0002] This application claims the priority of Japanese Patent Application No. 2010-137460 for which it applied to Japan on June 16, 2010, and uses the content here. Background technique [0003] Deaths from colorectal cancer are increasing. Colorectal cancer is the leading cause of death among all cancer deaths, ranking fourth among men and first among women (2005 cancer death statistics). In addition, in the estimation of cancer patients in 2020, it is estimated that it ranks second among men and first among women. Therefore, a comprehensive colorectal cancer strategy including secondary...
