Embodiment Construction

[0026] In this application, the term "distal portion / end" refers to the portion / end of the device, or a part / end of a member therein, which, when using said term, is located furthest away from the patient delivery point. Correspondingly, the term "proximal portion / end" relates to the portion / end of the device, or a part / end of a member therein, which, as such term is used, is located closest to the patient delivery point.

[0027] The drug delivery device of the invention comprises a proximal housing part 10 and a distal housing part 12 movably connected to said proximal housing part. Such as Figure 4 , inside the longitudinally extending channel 13 of the proximal housing part 10, the drug container 14 is positioned together with its neck 16 inside the proximal neck 18 of the proximal housing part 10, a drug delivery member (not shown) To this proximal neck 18 may be attached, such as injection needles, mouthpieces, nozzles and the like.

Abstract

Medicament delivery device comprising relatively movable housing parts, a medicament container,a proximal plunger rod part and distal plunger rod part in threaded engagement with each other, wherein said proximal plunger rod part is movably arranged in relation to said housing part sand in contact with a stopper of said medicament container, a lever pivotally attached to said housing parts and to the distal plunger rod part. The housing parts are ergonomically shaped having a grip- size for achieving a full hand grip and wherein said distal housing part and said proximal housing part are operably interconnected to each other through said lever such that a relative movement of said housing parts is capable of operating the lever for setting and injecting a dose.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to drug delivery devices, and in particular, the present invention relates to ergonomic, manually operated multi-dose drug delivery devices with reduced force requirements. Background technique [0002] There are many drug delivery devices for self-administration. Some of these devices have automatic functions, to mention a few, like auto-penetration, auto-injection, auto-withdrawal. However, even though these features facilitate the administration of medications, the devices become rather complex to manufacture and there is an increased risk for functional failure. [0003] In these respects, in many cases it would be desirable to have manually operated equipment which is intuitive and easy to operate and which is not expensive. However, for individuals with reduced hand strength and / or reduced manual dexterity, manual manipulation may be difficult because considerable force is required to perform drug delivery, and in ...
